The IIPC The International Institute of Projectiology and Conscientiology (IIPC) is a non-profit research and educational organization that serves both the scientific community and the general public. The IIPC is one of the biggest conscientiological organizations existing to date. Presently, its activities are focuses principally in Brazil, where tens of offices are located in the major Brazilian cities. The IIPC has organized several major events dedicated to discuss consciousness research, beginning with the 1st International Congress of Projectiology in 1990. Since its inception in 1988, more than 130,000 individuals have participated in its conferences and classes. Other events promoted by IIPC includes the 1st Brazilian Congress on Projectiology (Brasilia, 1991), the 1st Forum on Near-Death Experience (Sao Paulo, 1994) and the International Forum of Consciousness Research (Barcelona, 1999). IIPC has lectured at many organizations and events, such as the 11th Annual International Symposium on Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics (Columbia University); the Beyond the Brain Conferences (Cambridge, England); MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA); National Institute of Space Research (S. J. Campos, Brazil) and the International Earth Summit - ’92 Global Forum of Ecology (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Alexander Steiner is IIPC’s president since 2000, when he replaced Waldo Vieira in this position which he has had for 11 years. IIPC studies aim to expand the full understanding of human nature whilst offering education activities with this purpose. Presently, the IIPC is building a campus in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro, and directs a research and educational polo in Brazil’s capital, Brasilia. The activities of IIPC have given rise to some of the present conscientiological organizations, including the Center for Higher Studies of Consciousness and the International Academy of Consciousness.
