ASTRAL PROJECTION: Beings We May Encounter

Countless accounts throughout history—in literature and, more recently, in film, television, and on the internet—tell us about the creatures or beings we may encounter in the “hereafter” or in other existing dimensions.

Intraphysical environment.

When we leave home to go about our daily activities, the people we encounter depend on where we live. (Living in a large city is not the same as living in a small village of ten people, for example.) We may run into countless people—or, in the latter case, no one at all.

So, whom do we meet? We meet the people who live in our apartment building and other neighbors and residents of the same city, as well as visitors from distant places who may come from cultures and backgrounds very different from our own.

What are these people like?

We will surely meet people who are more capable and developed in certain areas, while in others it is we who have greater maturity.

Extraphysical environment.

And when we leave the body in a projection, what beings do we encounter?

At this point, we can begin to analyze the different aspects of the experience.

First, we take it for granted that we live in a physical, material, dense world and act in it through a physical, material body with five senses that let us function in this dense environment. None of this seems strange because it is what we experience every day, just as the other people we meet do.

Level of lucidity

When we leave the body in a projection, however, there are factors to consider, such as our level of lucidity as we act in these extraphysical dimensions. Today, most experiences described by practitioners involve a low level of lucidity. For this reason, we need to take this into account when assessing an experience so that we do not draw mistaken conclusions from our perceptions.

Second, this is an experience beyond the physical dimension, in a much subtler environment (the astral or extraphysical environment), where we act through a subtler body (the astral body, or psychosoma in technical terms).

Whom do I meet?

If I leave my body in a projection, whom will I meet? What kind of environment will I be in? What is the level of development or maturity of the consciousnesses there?

Just as we usually meet the people who live around us when we leave home each day, each with different levels and circumstances, when we leave the body in a projection we may likewise encounter different people and beings who exist in these dimensions.

Different religions, philosophies, and cultures describe beings who inhabit the hereafter or the extraphysical dimension, calling them beings of light, angels, or demons.

The science of Conscientiology.

According to Conscientiology, beings who inhabit extraphysical dimensions are beings, or consciousnesses, like us, who currently have no physical body and are preparing to return to this dimension. We were in the same situation before being born and will be again when we leave this physical body.

Just as this intraphysical dimension contains consciousnesses at different stages of evolution, the extraphysical dimensions also contain beings at different stages.

Helper consciousnesses.

In extraphysical dimensions, we encounter consciousnesses distinguished by their high level of lucidity and ethics (cosmoethics) and their knowledge of evolution. Their main interest is to help others selflessly, using specialized, technical methods. Conscientiology calls them helpers. (Different religions have called them angels, masters, guides, and so on.)

Dependent consciousnesses.

We may also encounter extraphysical consciousnesses with much lower levels of maturity, lucidity, and ethics, and therefore a lower evolutionary level. This means they do not understand the process of evolution or how to manage energy, so they depend on others.

What level am I at?

This gives us a starting point for observing ourselves and asking what level of maturity and evolutionary knowledge we have. Our level determines the kind of environment we find ourselves in and the beings or people we encounter there.

Film and literature do not always help clarify the phenomenon because they tend to portray it through a lens of terror and mystery, instilling fear and misinformation. Some philosophies and beliefs also hinder understanding by promoting preconceptions and ideas that do not reflect reality.

Conclusion.

The best way to learn what and whom we encounter when we leave the body in a projection is to experience it personally, calmly and objectively, with an open mind and without fear. We should seek information from sources that study the phenomenon empirically and objectively.

What we are told we will encounter in the extraphysical dimension depends on the source of the information.

For this reason, we need to approach this study through our own personal experience, use our reasoning, and draw our own conclusions.
